WHAT CLIENTS SAY...
“When Davis/Reed is selected for a wood-framed structure project, we place maximum importance on our structural framing partner. The speed, quality and accuracy of the trades both during and that follow the structure are directly impacted by the success of the framing. R.L. Mays is our first choice as a wood framing partner and they have never let us down. They have always provided value, speed and control of the dynamic flow of today’s fast-track projects. R.L. Mays also gives us assistance on the front end to evaluate constructability and control the inventory and price of commodity-based lumber and engineered materials. Davis/Reed is very lucky to be one of the selected general contractors that they partner with in the industry.”
“Here at Viking, we only use ‘A’-list subcontractors to bid our work, and we keep that list to a select three or four in each trade. We are proud to say that R.L. Mays is on the top of our Carpentry/Framing list. The quality of craftsmanship they deliver on jobs ranging from small projects to large, complex developments is outstanding. A recent stand-out project was Wells Fargo Bank, Rancho San Diego. This project was not your common commercial framing project. There were exposed large beam trusses which were hand-built on site, as well as exposed beam wrap-around porches throughout. Not only did R.L. Mays complete the project on an accelerated schedule, but the carpentry was of the highest quality.”
“In 2008, I worked with R.L. Mays Construction on a Ritz Carlton project in Rancho Mirage, California. The job had an accelerated schedule, so we had to get 450 workers out there fast. R.L. Mays did their part and were able to man up quickly and get their work done working alongside the other trades. I recommend R.L. Mays, and I am hopeful I will have the opportunity to work with them on future projects.”
“Noah Homes has had the pleasure of working with RL Mays Construction on our recent Memory Care Homes for adults with disabilities dealing with aging and Alzheimer’s. Rick’s company volunteered their services and I am so pleased with their work. They were on time, got the work done quickly and with no mess. We are particularly selective about workman on our property as we serve adults with developmental disabilities, and their safety and well-being is our first priority. Rick’s employees were courteous and respectful of our residents, and delivered an excellent product that helped us greatly.”
“I’m very thankful for the Philanthropy work that Rick Mays and his wife Kathy are doing through his company and personally to help save the lives of the forgotten children in the world and to help entire villages stay healthy by providing them with safe, clean drinking water. Rick and Kathy’s donations have helped send 100s of our life saving water filters to Kenya, Uganda, Cambodia, Thailand, Haiti and Nepal over the last 3+ years, helping thousands of precious souls stay healthy and be more productive. This includes a very generous donation recently ( October 2016 ) to help us purchase our own drill system, that will drill over 100 wells for villages and schools in Kenya and Uganda, allowing young girls to go back to school and not walk long distances each day, doing the backbreaking and dangerous work of carrying water back to their villages. I’m very Blessed by Rick and Kathy’s friendship and their loving and caring hearts to help us provide safe drinking water to the suffering and forgotten children/families in the world. ”
“It is my sincere pleasure to recognize Rick Mays for his commitment to San Diego Habitat for Humanity. I have had the pleasure of working with Mr. Mays over the last three years. It is clear his passion for our organization far exceeds many of our supporters. His company, RL Mays Construction first supported San Diego Habitat’s home building program by donating the labor and materials to frame a home during our 2006 Builder Blitz where San Diego Habitat for Humanity built four homes in five days! RL Mays Construction repeated the generosity by donating the framing of another house in the 2008 Builder Blitz and has committed to framing a third home for the 2009 Builder Blitz. Impressed with Mr. May’s dedication for our mission, he was invited to join San Diego Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors in 2007. We were very pleased he accepted the position and thus participated on the Construction Committee. Our support from Rick Mays continued when he accepted the role of Board President in early 2008. As Board President, Mr. Mays is responsible for determining how the organization carries out its mission through long and short range planning and review, adopting an annual budget and providing fiscal oversight, evaluating its performance and the overall performance of the organization in achieving its mission and establishing policies for the effective sustainability. This is not always an easy task considering the many facets, challenges and complexities that create our organization. We consider it a privilege for Mr. Mays to be a part of our “team” for we know he brings forth a wealth of expertise and experience. San Diego Habitat for Humanity had been guided by his exceptional skills and talents. Above all, Mr. Mays is a warm and caring individual both professionally and personally and is a pleasure to work with.”
